Welcome to the Lantern Family Centre
The Lantern Family Centre for Parenthood, Families and Children offers training and consultation to professionals and parents, and therapeutic work for families and children. We are a multi-disciplinary team aiming to develop a service that will meet the needs of families and professionals in the area.
Parenting is a rewarding but challenging time. We aim to offer training courses that provide skills, techniques and emotional understanding to support parents as their children grow up through infancy, childhood and adolescence. We also offer professional training and therapeutic services for children and families who are going through difficult times and need expert professional help.

At the Lantern Family Centre we offer help with a wide range of family problems. You may be worried about your child's behaviour at school or his difficulties in making friends, or you may be struggling as a step -parent to deal with a child's temper tantrums, sleeping problems, ADHD or concerns about autism. If so, call us to discuss how we might help.
We provide a range of courses for parents that will develop your skills and confidence in handling a child's anger and distress or arguments between brothers and sisters, whether they are toddlers or teenagers. Many of the families we see have been through divorce. We offer therapeutic services and family therapy to help the parents cope with the break up and to support children with their feelings about separation and loss. As experienced professionals, we offer team consultation and individual supervision for complex work with families and children.
